Assessments

Assessments are measures or activities used to understand people objectively and holistically. They serve many functions but are widely used for recruitment and development. Though many exist and some are easily accessible online, I only use reliable, valid, and classified assessments by the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

I utilise the power of assessments for the following:

  • Recruitment (Bulk, Graduate, Leadership and more)

  • Selection

  • Development

  • Coaching

  • Leadership endeavours

  • Career coaching

I offer assessments based on the client’s needs. Assessments can be conducted in person within Cape Town or virtually through online applications such as MS Teams and Zoom. Please see the areas I can assess for below.

Types of Assessments

Behaviour

Behaviour assessments gauge an individual’s behaviour preferences, such as how they prefer to act, respond, and interact in specific contexts. They can be used to determine an individual’s strengths, potential limitations, compatibility with others, and goodness of fit for job roles.

Emotional Intelligence (EQ)

EQ assessments assess an individual’s capacity to identify, understand, and utilise emotions when interacting with others in different situations. They can be used to gauge an individual’s self and emotion regulation, social awareness, and capacity for engaging with others.

Integrity

Integrity assessments evaluate an individual’s honesty and ethicality. They can be used to determine how trustworthy an individual is and what values guide them.

Personality

Personality assessments identify the underlying traits that influence an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and actions. They can be used to gauge how an individual approaches different aspects of life, such as tasks, work, and relationships. In addition, some can also showcase aspects related to leadership, such as leadership potential.

Cognitive Ability

Cognitive ability assessments evaluate an individual’s cognitive functioning in various areas. They can be used to reveal an individual’s aptitude, speed of learning, problem-solving ability, and thinking processes.

360 Degree Feedback

360-degree assessments provide a holistic understanding of an individual’s competencies based on ratings and feedback from multiple individuals/sources of information. They can shed light on an individual’s strengths, blind spots, and how others see them.

Situational Judgement Tests (SJTs)

SJTs evaluate how an individual approaches and responds to real-life scenarios at work. Although hypothetical, they can reveal specific information and observations about an individual’s behaviour and abilities.
